I have just collected my wig from Amy and I am so happy with it! I needed a wig because my own hair is very damaged due to constant bleaching and over styling, and I wanted to give it a break and wear a wig for a while. I described what I was after to Amy and we sat down and went through all the specific requirements, I also sent her photos to give an idea of what I wanted. I had a very specific idea in my head, which definitely wouldn't be to everyone's tastes - but Amy listened to everything I wanted and literally made it exactly as I described! During the six weeks it was being made, I wasn't sure how it would come out and whether it would be my dream hair that I'd always wanted, but it really was! When Amy brought it into the room, I was amazed! It was exactly as I had hoped - really thick and luscious and glamorous. i was so worried when I went to see Amy having had bad experience with visiting hair specialists and was expected the same when I booked an appointment but the moment I met Amy I knew this was going to be different.
Straight away Amy was so helpful she listened to all my concerns and put no pressure on me during the Appointment in fact I was all prepared to buy a full wigs but she assured me that I did not need a full wig and that a half wig was all I needed.
During the short time it took Amy to make my hair piece I was so worried on how it would look and I probably drove her mad with ringing her with my concerns but Amy was happy to answer any questions I had and was always at the end of a phone to put my mind at rest.
When my hair piece arrived I was over the moon I could not believe the way it looked Amy even cut it to the length and style I wanted, I really love my hair piece and wish I had met Amy years ago instead of seeing many specialists who were only interested in making money.
Final word on what people have said is that they can't believe it's a hair piece and how they would have never known if I had not told them plus my husband reckons u look younger which is good at 58 years of age.

Having suffered with alopecia areata and telogen effluvium for some time now, I came to Amy in desperation as I could no longer disguise my hair loss. From the moment I met Amy, I felt as though she truly understood what I was going through, she’s such a warm and caring person that you feel as though you’ve known her for years.

I was fortunate to only need a wiglet and whilst I was nervous about how it would look once on, you truly cannot tell the difference between my hair and the wiglet.. not only was it colour matched, even the movement in the wiglet mirrors my own hair by being a little wavy! When I was diagnosed with breast cancer I was devastated at the prospect of losing my hair. I contacted Amy and was soon booked in for an appointment. I had no idea what to expect but when my husband and I met Amy we were immediately struck by her warmth and sincerity. She explained the process for making my wig and assured me that it would be ready within four weeks. When I saw the wig I was absolutely delighted. I’m over 60, and feel sensitive about the aging process. Not only is my hair fine,going thinner, but grey all round the edges, and the roots need doing regularly. The service at AmiWigs is both very professional, and sensitively approached, i have extensions, which thicken the look of my hair as they are matched exactly to my colour, as well as the texture of my hair, in such a way that they are invisibly mixed in with my own hair. Because the hair is European its soft and moves in the same way as my own hair. The work is produced promptly, and exactly as discussed, for very competitive prices. I first contacted Amy on realising I could no longer cope with my hair loss. I’d been diagnosed with alopecia androgenetica while still quite young but over the years had managed to disguise the loss to a certain extent. However as I grew older (and lost more hair) this became much more difficult. My GP was sympathetic but I knew that the NHS had little to offer and for me hair transplants weren’t an option. I’d tried (acrylic) wigs by mail order but found these much too hot and uncomfortable to wear. Then I discovered AmiWigs online. Amy made lots of little hair pieces from my own hair shortly after I was diagnosed with alopecia. I'd lost around half of my hair and was feeling quite upset and down at the time I met her. Amy was friendly, practical and very sensitive about my situation. She was also well-informed about alopecia, which made it even easier for me to chat to her about what had been going on. It had taken me a while to find a wig maker prepared to work with the client's own hair but Amy was experienced in this and I felt surprisingly comfortable as she cut off inches of my remaining locks. I'm really pleased with my hair pieces, not just because they're so skilfully made and look so natural, but also as the whole experience with Amy was positive and reassuring at a time when I really needed that. Highly recommended.

The most beautiful wig, a piece of true craftmanship – Amiwigs is simply amazing! When the wig arrived, my sister was so excited and I felt overwhelmed and so very grateful that I found Amy. My sister was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma whilst COVID was raging around us. The wig is part of a miracle - no matter how ill she feels on the inside, when she puts the wig on, she feels like her old self again and even the old sparkle is back in her eyes.

I live in the UK, but my sister lives abroad and we were all in total lockdown at the time, hence Amy had to do everything remotely - from the very first consultation and taking the measurements right through to doing the fitting and explaining how to care for the wig. I still don’t know how she did it, but Amy managed it all, including our emotions, so skilfully and made us feel that my sister’s wig was as important to her as it was for us. The wig is so true to life you can’t imagine it is not her own hair. Amy blended natural hair from different colours when weaving the wig to create natural highlights and she cut it in a lovely style that is very complementary to my sister’s facial shape – it turned out to be just perfect! Plus easy to care for and to wear even if you have a sensitive scalp due to chemo.

I cannot recommend Amy highly enough, not only for what she does, but also for the way in which she does it. I wish I could introduce every person that struggles with hair loss, for whatever reason, to Amy as I know you won’t ever regret meeting her.

I have been seeing Amy for some 3 years now and she is currently in the process of making a further piece for me. I have, from the first meeting, found Amy approachable, knowledgeable and very honest. She is a consummate professional and will not make unrealistic promises although there isn’t much she can’t sort out for you. I have found her estimates of timing for completion of work spot on and she will always try to accommodate me with appointments.
I have been wearing wigs for many years so I know quite a bit about wigs, fitting and the materials used and I consider Amy to be at the top of her game. She deserves great success.

My new hairpiece has given me a much-needed boost of confidence after a very stressful year, during which about half my hair fell out. Although the hair loss has now slowed, the regrowth hasn't yet started, and I've been feeling very self-conscious. Despite my best efforts to blow dry and style, my hair looked sparse and limp and ratty. As soon as I met Amy, she was understanding and really kind - she didn't make light of my concerns at all, and talked me through the various options available. We decided on a small hairpiece (or 'wiglet', and matched up the colour from her supply of beautiful European hair. The wait was short, and four weeks later I was back for a fitting. I couldn't believe how light the piece was - the net base seems strong but is almost invisible; it fits my head shape perfectly, sitting just back from the hairline so that there's no sense of artificiality. What's great is that it doesn't entirely cover my own hair - it just adds some much needed volume, and the tiny combs which clip the hair piece into place are really discreet (nothing like the bulky ones in my store-bought clip ins). What's best is that I've had lots of compliments, and even family and friends have not suspected - however many have commented on how nice my hair is looking! ? My hairpiece seems very good value for money when I consider how much I'd been spending on various attempts to restyle/cover up/etc. And you can't put a price on confidence!I can't thank Amy enough, especially as she managed to get everything finished just before her baby was due.

From the moment I walked through the doors, I knew I was in the hands of someone who knew exactly what they were doing!I thought I had been wearing relatively good wigs.. Hi, I just wanted to write a review to say how positive I feel following my consultation with Amy. (I've never written an online review but I know I really looked at reviews when trying to decide where to go). Amy was really helpful and gave me advice regarding possible options should my hair loss continue to progress. Her hair pieces look so subtle and knowing that I actually have the option to have natural looking hair again has reduced the stress I've been feeling. The consultation was in a calm, private setting and Amy herself is professional with none of the hard sell/rushing that I did read of- occurring at some other hair piece/wigs/solutions places -when researching where to go. I felt listened to!I would 100% recommend Amiwigs. Hair loss can be so upsetting but Amy is very understanding and I found the consultation one of the single most constructive things I've done since I began losing my hair (my trichologist was good but this is a practical, excellent option for when hair loss continues to progress).

I have suffered from thinning hair for over 10 years and tried everything I could - shampoos, head sprays, vitamins, volumising sprays, coloured dry shampoo. I was diagnosed with female pattern baldness, which is just the same as what men get really except thin rather than bald, especially on the top and the crown, and the doctors weren't really able to suggest anything to help except using things like Rogaine which I was not keen on as was not a permanent solution and was not something you could use when pregnant or breastfeeding (which given my age was a factor to consider).

I had friends who used glue-in hair extensions to thicken the look of their hair, but mine being so thin, and mainly noticeable on top, this wasn't really an option for me. I can across the concept of clip on hair pieces / wiglets and they looks like they might be a good option to try. I was really conscious that I did not want to look like I was wearing a wig and want the hair to be as naturally looking as possible so after researching online, I came across Amiwigs and after reading all the reviews I decided to give it a try.

Once I met Amy and looked at the quality of the wigs and also the hair, I knew it was something I wanted to go for. Amy matched by hair colour perfectly by using a mixture a natural hair to make a natural looking blend. When I came back for my fitting, I could not believe how good it looked - it was just the right thickness as to blend in with my normal hair, cover my thin scalp but not look like a completely different head of hair. I was a bit nervous about wearing it to start with most people didn't comment at all, and those who did just said "your hair looks nice today". When I told my friends about it they were amazed, to them it just looked like a good blow dry! I am able to wear the hairpiece with my hair up or down, and have found the after care really straight forward.

If anyone is considering trying a wiglet to help disguise thinning hair and to give you confidence back in your hair I would really encourage you to go and see Amy. I love that I don't have to worry about my hair now, I can wear it down with confidence, its really quick to do in the mornings now I don't have to spend ages making sure my scalp is not visible. I only wish I had found this 10 years ago!

Wow, Amy made the perfect wig, the quality is second to none. Amy made me feel comfortable with her friendly approach to all my hair loss problems.
